Chicken Gravy Recipe

I made a beautiful roast chicken last night and even had success with my gravy,  I think is the best it has ever been! My gravy abilities are not stellar though… so I am sure anyone out there with good gravy skills could give me some pointers. However we ate it so fast there were no pictures, surely a good sign. I can’t use any of the gravy cheaters though – as they have too much MSG for my body to handle.

Thanks for the gravy recipe, been looking for one. Ina’s roast chicken is awesome, so is Marcella Hazan’s and the Zuni Cafe’s. I saw her do the vegetable soup idea and it looked incredibly brilliant. What I sometimes do is make chicken pot pie with the leftovers. Heat everything up and make a gravy (or use leftover gravy) add cream and frozen peas, use homemade pie crust or storebough, or bisquick.

Actually chicken pot pie is a great idea and now totally on my list, I even have pie pastry in the freezer from the last time I made chicken pot pie.

A beautiful chicken! I just roasted my first ever whole chicken using Giada’s recipe. I’ll have to try Ina’s next!
