Raw food intrigues me. It seems to be becoming more and more popular and some of the recipes look really good. Like raw tacos made with nuts and wrapped up in lettuce. Doesn’t that sound good? Eventually I will have to experiment with an actual raw food recipe but for now, here is a simple salad of broccoli that is really very delicious. It is very fresh and because of the cumin and cilantro would go well with a curry. This is based on a recipe from here. I foresee more variations on this in the future.
(serves 3)
2 cloves garlic, finely minced
1 teaspoon cumin
1 lemon juiced
2 tablespoons cilantro, finely minced
3 tablespoons olive oil
salt and pepper
3 cups broccoli, chopped small
Whisk or shake together garlic, cumin, lemon juice, cilantro, oil and salt and pepper. Pour over broccoli and let sit for at least an hour.

This salad is undoubtedly the best way to eat Broccoli. It’s not only mouth watering after the first bite but also is a trick to play on your taste buds. What I mean is……your taste buds get into a frenzy and they start fighting each other, seeing who can get the next morsel….the next delightful bite.
My wife and I have Candida and Raw food is our only way out of this problem.
I don’t get how anyone can eat raw broccoli. I experimented with eating it raw and I have never been so bloated and gassy in my life. I think this recipe is great, but I prefer to steam the broccoli first.
