Green Smoothie Recipe

You will think this is weird. Maybe even gross. I know I used to think it was and J is still very unconvinced, however, after I tried adding kale and spinach to my smoothies I am now totally addicted. Not only is it a great way to get your greens but it is also delicious. I have taken to having one of these for breakfast and then having a bowl of cereal a few hours later.

So seriously, if you are looking for ways to use up your kale or spinach or to get more greens in your diet give this a try. I discovered these when the Green Monsters became all the rage around the healthy blog world. Thankfully my curiosity got the better of me and I have been drinking them ever since. Plus, my skin had never looked better.

I'll have to take your word on this one!!! I agree on the health issue, but the color will put my family off….no offense intended!!!

I have to say – it sure does look gross, but I've heard such good things about green smoothies. I'll have to try one next time I have extra greens on hand!

I know it totally does look gross doesn't it? The blueberries don't hep the colour either, if you use strawberries it turns a more vibrant green.

Try spinach for your first time, you won't even taste it I swear.

I'm a recent convert to green smoothies as well, thanks to all of the Cooking Away My CSA discussions. I love the variety – different greens, fruits, liquids, add-ins. They never get boring!

The color of this smoothie is indeed weird…. but, I would still give it a try. I believe it is an original smoothie recipe and thanks for sharing!

My brain tells me this is a great idea and that I should try it the next time a make a smoothie.

My eyes are telling my fingers to cover them. Quickly.

Wonder if there's a way to make it really, really green — as in pesto green — and then brain and eyes would be in agreement. Perhaps swap apples for the blueberries?

Charmian – swapping blueberries for strawberries has that effect, apples would do it too I think.

Just made this form my 15 month old grandson who will not eat anything green. He watched me make it and wanted more!

Belinda – I think its true, if people are willing to try it they will enjoy it.
